Alexandra Huber

A recent addition to the “outsider art” world, Alexandra Huber’s inspiration came as a means to escape depression and to question life’s many obstacles. As art critic Johannes van Megan wrote, “The human being and the often puzzling order of things are her major theme… Her paintings are intended on the one hand to be shocking and provocative, and on the other to be read and empathized with.” Daunted by the prospect of expanding her paintings onto larger canvases, much of her work remains small and the larger more expansive pieces of work are often collages of smaller drawings.
